Our Story

For nearly two decades, Theola Booker Music Camp, Inc. has brought vibrant educational and artistic experiences to Houston's diverse communities. We proudly focus on serving youth by fostering meaningful connections, and eliminating barriers to arts education. Through our programs, young people of all backgrounds unite in the spirit of creativity, resilience, and community.

 As we celebrate our 20th anniversary of service, culminating in our summer camp from July 14-18, 2025, we have set an ambitious goal: to raise $20,000. These essential funds will support the purchase of musical instruments, staffing, camp supplies, and enriching educational field trips—resources that allow us to continue providing transformative experiences to young artists from underserved communities.

 Our annual Dr. Theola Booker Summer Fine Arts Camp offers a nurturing space for young people to develop their artistic skills, build confidence, and find their voices. With a dedicated team of renowned instructors, dedicated volunteers and alumni who return as ambassadors, the camp has become a cornerstone of Houston’s art scene. Each year, it attracts over 100 youth, with a culminating performance attended by more than 500 community members, demonstrating the lasting impact of arts on our city’s young minds.
